The Gift by Edith Eger
The Gift combines 14 lessons on psychological freedom with family recipes that Eger weaves throughout as expressions of love and memory. The design needed to hold both without feeling like two different books.
I kept the typography classic and restrained, letting the weight of the writing lead. Pull quotes and callouts give the lessons room to land, while the recipe sections have their own clear structure without feeling like a departure from the rest of the interior.
The goal was a design that felt unified and warm, serious enough for the subject and inviting enough for the recipes.
