Troublemaker by Mark Clifford
Troublemaker follows the fight for democracy in Hong Kong through personal stories and historical context. I wanted the design to feel clear and grounded, letting the content speak for itself.
The design stays minimal and structured to match the seriousness of the subject. A clean serif drives the text, paired with bold condensed type on chapter openers to create contrast and emphasis. The layout is consistent and controlled, while the photo sections open up into a more flexible grid to bring in energy and context.
The goal was to balance restraint with impact, keeping the reading experience straightforward while giving key moments more presence.
